Why Some LED Drivers Flicker When Dimming — and How to Fix It
Dimming LED lights usually lead to flickering and this is normally due to several reasons like dimmer incompatibility, voltage ripple, power mismatches, or overheating. TRIAC dimmers are often in conflict with the non-compatible units and together they produce an unstable waveform which is not the type the standard LED light driver is able to process. The WHOOSH dimmable LED drivers are capable of reducing the ripple, making more accurate the TRIAC interpretation, and providing stable output for applications ranging from homes to industrial facilities of recycling plastic. Wattage matching (1.2–1.5× load), low-ripple design, and good ventilation are important factors in achieving flicker-free performance.
